> FS PDF Compressor is a free, open-source, private PDF compressor for macOS Apple Silicon, Windows, and Linux. FS means Fast & Simple. The app compresses PDF files locally with Ghostscript, so users can compress PDF files without uploading document contents.

- Version 1.0.13 is a small memory-footprint maintenance release: it keeps the macOS update system secure while deferring its full framework until needed, bounds temporary diagnostic memory, and releases completed Linux workers promptly.
- Supported macOS systems: macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon. The Mac app is Developer ID signed and notarized by Apple.
- Supported Linux systems: x86_64 Linux through a self-contained AppImage.
- Supported Windows systems: Windows 11 x64 via a per-user installer or portable ZIP. The Windows distribution is currently unsigned and published with SHA-256 checksums.
- Compression engine: bundled Ghostscript 10.07.1.
- Quality profiles: Preserve, Balanced, and Maximum. Balanced is the default.
- Privacy: PDF contents are processed locally and are never uploaded.
- Accounts and tracking: no account, analytics, telemetry, advertising, or subscription.
- File behavior: the original is replaced only when the compressed result is smaller. Keep original mode writes a separate compressed copy.
- Drop Zone: an optional movable desktop target for compressing PDFs without reopening the main window.
- macOS distribution: Developer ID signed and notarized by Apple.
- Linux distribution: AppImage published with a SHA-256 checksum.
- Windows distribution: installer and portable ZIP with SHA-256 checksums; Windows updates are manual for now.
